Item is an example of a Neo-Gothic style chasuble and stole set commonly used after the conclusion the the Second Vatican Council. The front-side of the chasuble is not ornate, the back-side includes and image of the "PAX" symbol and a cross surrounded by wheat. The chasuble comes with a matching stole which is reversible.
The purple colour indicates that this chasuble would have been worn during Advent and from Septuagesima to Easter, on vigils that are dast days, on ember-days, except the Vigil of Pentecost and the ember-days during the octave of Pentecost. Violet (or purple) is also used used for Mass on rogation-days, for votive Masses of the Passion and of penitential character, at the blessing of candles and of holy water.
