    Scope and content

    The sub subseries consists of duplicate Baptism registers (1842-1966), original hospital Baptism and Birth registers (1905-1988), Baptism index cards (1965-1982), CANSTAT (Sacramental records database) printouts (1999-2011), and Baptism register photocopies (2011-present).

    Index list (hardcopy and scanned) of Baptisms prior to 1965 to aid in locating place of Baptism. Register duplicate can then be searched.

    Rural mission parishes and the central rural parish that served them can be determined from a Mission cross reference list in archives.

    Please note the following:

    Winterburn renamed Enoch in 1991. The majority of Winterburn Church records were destroyed in a fire 05 November 1990.

    Hobbema renamed Maskwacis in 2014.

    Resurrection Parish has been named several different ways, St. Michael, St. Michael-Resurrection was again renamed Church of the Resurrection in 2013, however it is sometimes called Assumption-Resurrection Parish.

    Newman Theological College (NTC) had a chapel that was used as the Light of Christ community from1994-2000. Archives has the original register dated 1994-2005.

    Eritrean Catholic Community (Ge'ez Rite) original combination register in Archives (J2-2-6).

    Queen of Martyrs (Vietnamese Catholic Community) duplicate baptism Register copies for 2008-2010, likely incomplete, are housed in box J2-2-6. Duplicate copies from 2011 onwards are filed with the City Parish Baptism Register Copies in the Archives Vault (in alphabetical order by parish name). Please note baptism prior to 2011 are not in CANSTAT database.

    St. Jung Ha Sang Catholic Parish duplicate baptism register copies for 2000-2010, is very incomplete, are housed in box J2-2-6. Duplicate copies from 2011 onwards are filed with the City Parish Baptism Register Copies in the Archives Vault (in alphabetical order by parish name). Please note baptism prior to 2011 are not in CANSTAT database.

    Namao contains Baptisms of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). However most baptism that took place in Namao or on the base will be filed with the Military Ordinatiate in Ottawa.

    Polish Mission Rural Baptisms filed separately under rural town of Chipman. Other areas included are Krakow, Mundare, Haight, Innisfree and Hilliard. These register copies were separated from 9.9 Early Registers on 09 Mar 2017 for proper search purposes. MK. On 21 Sep 2017 reassigned to Oblate Accession 2017/302 with Combination registers. Likewise St. Albert B.MS. reassigned to match originals now in our possession. MK
