The series consists of records documenting many of the trips Archbishop MacNeil made during his very active life including to Ottawa, Montreal and Western Canada to attend the Marian Congress (1947), New York and Boston (1952), various Europe trips (1955-1958 while studying Canon Law in Rome), Latin America (1961), the Caribbean and Central America (1962), the Canadian Artic (1962), Rome (to receive the Pallium in 1973), Rome (to attend the Synod on the Family 1980), Ethiopia (1985), Scotland (Ad Limina visit 1988), Rome (Ad Limina visit 1993), Scotland, Toronto and Jeruslam (retirement trip 1999), and others.
The series includes trip itineraries, reflections composed by the Archbishop, reports made on his trips (in particular those to Rome).
