The sub subseries consists of duplicate Baptism registers (1842-1966), original hospital Baptism and Birth registers (1905-1988), Baptism index cards (1965-1982), CANSTAT (Sacramental records database) printouts (1999-2011), and Baptism register photocopies (2011-present).

Index list (hardcopy and scanned) of Baptisms prior to 1965 to aid in locating place of Baptism. Register duplicate can then be searched.

Rural mission parishes and the central rural parish that served them can be determined from a Mission cross reference list in archives.

Please note the following:

Winterburn renamed Enoch in 1991. The majority of Winterburn Church records were destroyed in a fire 05 November 1990.

Hobbema renamed Maskwacis in 2014.

Resurrection Parish has been named several different ways, St. Michael, St. Michael-Resurrection was again renamed Church of the Resurrection in 2013, however it is sometimes called Assumption-Resurrection Parish.

Newman Theological College (NTC) had a chapel that was used as the Light of Christ community from1994-2000. Archives has the original register dated 1994-2005.

Queen of Martyrs (Vietnamese Catholic Community) duplicate baptism Register copies for 2008-2010, likely incomplete, are housed in box J2-2-6. St. Jung Ha Sang Catholic Parish duplicate baptism register copies for 2000-2010, is very incomplete, are housed in box J2-2-6. Duplicate copies from 2011 onwards are filed with the City Parish Baptism Register Copies in the Archives Vault (in alphabetical order by parish name). Please note baptism prior to 2011 are not in CANSTAT database.

Namao contains Baptisms of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). However most baptism that took place in Namao or on the base will be filed with the Military Ordinatiate in Ottawa.

Polish Mission Rural Baptisms filed separately under rural town of Chipman. Other areas included are Krakow, Mundare, Haight, Innisfree and Hilliard. These register copies were separated from 9.9 Early Registers on 09 Mar 2017 for proper search purposes. MK. On 21 Sep 2017 reassigned to Oblate Accession 2017/302 with Combination registers. Likewise St. Albert B.MS. reassigned to match originals now in our possession. MK

The file consists of records that document the involvement of the Archdiocese of Edmonton with various Church councils, in particular Vatican I and Vatican II (the only Church councils to be called during the history of the Archdiocese of Edmonton).

The subseries consists of records that document the relationship between the Archdiocese of Edmonton and other episcopal entities such as other dioceses/archdiocese in Canada, the United States and overseas, the Canadian Military Ordinate, as well as Ukrainian Eparchies and various divisions of the Orthodox Church.

The subseries also consists of records that document the relationship between the Archdiocese and other episcopal entities in Alberta such as the Assembly of Western Catholic Bishops and the Alberta Conference of Catholic Bishops (ACCB), the Western Ecumenical Conference, the Alberta Church Consultation Committee, and the Alberta Diocesan Chancellors.

Finally the subseries consists of records that document the relationship between the Archdiocese and other non-Catholic Christian entities and includes correspondence with Anglican and Lutheran Bishops as well as other church leaders in Alberta.

The file includes correspondence between the Archdiocese of Edmonton and the Diocese of Calgary spanning from the creation of the Diocese of Calgary in 1912 to the present and includes correspondence with each of the Bishops (McNally, Kidd, Monahan, Carroll, Wilhelm, Klein, O'Byrne, and Henry) regarding a number of administrative, pastoral, spiritual, and personal matters. Separate folders have been created for correspondence with each Bishop.

The file consists of records that document the relationship between the Archdiocese and the various Ordinariates in Canada, in particular with the Military Ordinariates of Canada and the Personal Ordinariates for Anglicans.

This file consists of general correspondence, letters of recommendation, invitations and complaints received by the chancellors during their service for the Archdiocese of Edmonton.

The file consist of records that document various functions carried out by Chancery staff and includes lists of employees active at the Pastoral and Administrative Offices (previously called the Catholic Pastoral Center), meeting minutes of Chancery staff meetings, miscellaneous reports including records documenting the renovations of the PAO Chapel, files related to long-term and short-term planning for chancery staff, and the meeting minutes of the Catholic Campus Operation Committee. The file also includes information on the integration of Newman Theological College and St. Joseph Seminary a committee that appears to have been formed out of the Catholic Campus Operation Committee.
