Chalice was donated to the Archives by the family of Rev. Canice Foran upon his death.
Scope and content
Item is an example of a Chalice that would be used during Mass. It has a simple design with a light leaf-like motif on the cup, stem and base. There are two inscriptions on the outer base and the inner base. Outer: "Father C.J. Foran". Inner:" Presented to Father Canice J. F. Foran by his Father and Mother on the Occasion of his First Solemn Mass at St. Patrick's Church Ottawa July 1st 1928". The chalice was made in France, paten is not necessarily matching.
