The series contains correspondence between Archbishop O'Leary and members of the clergy, Catholic Bishops from across Canada, members of men and women religious orders, the various chancellors who served the Archdiocese of Edmonton, and the laity dating from Archbishop O'Leary's tenure as Archbishop of Edmonton.
In addition the series includes personnel correspondence between O'Leary and his family and friends.
The correspondence is predominantly in English, however there is some French communications. Some files include indexes and descriptions of letters compiled by Sr. Cecil during her time as archivist.
