Scope and content
The file consists of requests from a variety of sources for funding for a variety of projects, parishes, missions, and Catholic charities from around the world. Early appeals are predominantly from Rome or the Holy Land, as the files move into the war era appeals are related to Europe and war relief efforts. In the 1950s and 1960s appeals become very international in their nature, ranging from India, to Asia, to South America, to Africa. By the 1990s follow-up letters are included in the files. These follow-up letters indicate if money was given to a particular cause, and if not why. Since 2006 two appeal files have been maintained for each year, appeals from within Canada, and appeals from other countries.
