            The file consists of records that document the pastoral planning process undertaken by Archbishop MacNeil shortly after his installation as Archbishop of Edmonton and includes correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, surveys and other documents from the Pastoral Planning Committee. Of particular interest is the Howe Survey and file titled "Evolution of Pastoral Planning in the Archdiocese of Edmonton."

            In addition the file includes meeting minutes of the Task Force on Lay Ministry and the Evangelization Ad Hoc Committee.

            The subseries consists of records that document the operations and activities of the Archdiocese of Edmonton curia and includes records related to the office of the Archbishop, Auxiliary Bishop, Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor as well as the other functions that fall under the direct responsibility of the Chancery Office including the Archives. The sub-series includes records that document the relationship between the curia and the archdiocesan consulters and the deaniers of the archdiocese.

            In addition this series includes records related to collections, statistics, stipends, faculties, the council of priests, PAO orientation day, pastoral planning, the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council (APC), the Archdiocesan Synod, the Jubilee 2000 Committee, and the Archdiocesan website.
