The file consists of records that document the RCIA (rite of Christian initiation of Adults) and RCIC (rite of Christian initiation for Children) programs developed for use in the Archdiocese is primarily comprised of meeting minutes and correspondence and other informational materials.

The file consists of records that document the approaches to religious education employed by the Archdiocese and includes correspondence and resource materials focused on particular issues and topics such as confirmation, first communion and first confession. In addition the file consists of records that document initiatives developed by the Archdiocese to provide religious education such as the Rural Catechetical Team (1972-1984). Finally the file also includes the records of the Western Conference of Catholic Religious Education (1968-2003).

The file consists of information pertaining to ordinations, dimissorials, incardinations, and excardinations of priests who have served in the Archdiocese of Edmonton and contains lists complied by Chancery Office staff and Archives Staff, correspondence, permission letters and other miscellaneous documents.
