Biographical history
Fr. Henry Becs was born in Latvia on January 28, 1915. He was ordained in Latvia on March 25, 1943. He came to Alberta in 1952 and was appointed Assistant in Barrhead. He came to Archdiocese of Edmonton in June 1959 and was appointed Assistant in Vegreville. He retired in Red Deer where he died on May 3, 1999, and was buried in the Innisfail cemetery.

Fonds includes several notebooks of homilies written by Becs and other miscellaneous certificates and documents which attest the good work Becs provided his parishioners while a priest.
The fonds is arranged into a single series which consists of the following files:
1-1 : Notebook of homilies : 1989-1990
1-2 : Notebook of homilies : 1991-1998
1-3 : Notebook of homilies : 1999
1-4 : Four certificates : 1957-1977
The fonds also includes a copy of his diploma in Church History he received from a Pontifical University in Rome on Nov. 8, 1951 (stored in oversize storage in the vault).
