The file consists of records that document the pastoral planning process undertaken by Archbishop Jordan as a direct result of his attendance at the second Vatican council and includes correspondence, meeting minutes, reports and other documents. As a direct result of this process, the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council was established (see ARCAE-1-1-5-32 for related records).

The sub-subseries consists of records that document the actions and activities of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council (originally called the Diocesan Pastoral Council) as established by Archbishop Jordan in the aftermath of Vatican II.

The sub-subseries includes meeting minutes and correspondence from the Steering Committee (the committee that developed into the Diocesan Pastoral Council), the Consultative Committee, and the Executive Committee. In addition the sub-subseries includes resource materials, publications, reports, and other miscellaneous documents.

The sub-subseries is arranged into the following Files:

2. Regional Pastoral Council Records (ca.1980-2004)
3. Evangelization Committee Records (1986-1991)
4. General Assembly Records (1989-2000)
5. Proposal for a Junior College (ca.1990)

The file consists of records that document the actions and activities of the Jubilee 2000 Committee established to prepare for the celebrations surrounding the 2000th anniversary of the birth of Christ and includes correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, surveys, handouts, resource materials and other miscellaneous records.

The file consists of records that document the pastoral planning initiatives undertake by Archbishop Collins in the early 2000s. These records include meeting minutes, correspondence and reports. Of particular interest is the report "Faithful into the future" the final report in the TOPS (Transformation of Parishes) project.

The folder consists of meeting minutes of the Directors and Associate Directors Meetings (D/Ads). These meetings were organized by the Chancellor Rev. Gregory Bittman in 2010 to facilitate reporting between the various offices of the Archdiocese.

The file consists of records that document the pastoral planning process undertaken by Archbishop MacNeil shortly after his installation as Archbishop of Edmonton and includes correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, surveys and other documents from the Pastoral Planning Committee. Of particular interest is the Howe Survey and file titled "Evolution of Pastoral Planning in the Archdiocese of Edmonton."

In addition the file includes meeting minutes of the Task Force on Lay Ministry and the Evangelization Ad Hoc Committee.

The folder consists of meeting minutes and reports compiled during the Councils and Commissions Operational Review conducted in 2001 to address management and operational issues in the commissions. The end result of this process was the closing of the commissions and the integration of the commissions into the formal structure of the archdiocese.

The folder also includes information about the Archbishop's Planning Team established in 2003-2004 to assist in the transition away from the commission system.

The subseries consists of records that document the operations and activities of the Archdiocese of Edmonton curia and includes records related to the office of the Archbishop, Auxiliary Bishop, Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor as well as the other functions that fall under the direct responsibility of the Chancery Office including the Archives. The sub-series includes records that document the relationship between the curia and the archdiocesan consulters and the deaniers of the archdiocese.

In addition this series includes records related to collections, statistics, stipends, faculties, the council of priests, PAO orientation day, pastoral planning, the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council (APC), the Archdiocesan Synod, the Jubilee 2000 Committee, and the Archdiocesan website.
