The fonds consists of records which document the actions and activities of the Council of Women Religious (later called the Council of Consecrated Women) and includes meeting minutes and agendas, general correspondence including thank you cards, records related to the planning of the councils annual assembly, newsletters, newspaper clippings, directories of members, copies of the constitution, and various project files including two surveys conducted by the council to gather up-to-date information about the various communities of Women Religious active in the Archdiocese of Edmonton.

Of particular interest is the file titled "Joint Executive Committee Records " which includes documentation of the activities of the joint activities of Council of Priests, Council of Women Religious, and Diocesan Pastoral Council between 1992 and 1994.

The file consists of miscellaneous financial and legal documents accumulated by Archbishop MacNeil and includes information about bank accounts, his health care card, and documents pertaining to the establishment of the Archdiocese Priests Endowment Fund.

The file consists of newspaper clippings documenting the life and activities of Archbishop MacNeil. Many of the clippings were collected by MacNeil, however it is likely that significant others were added by his assistants. The file also includes clippings related to his family (in particular obituaries).

The file consists of miscellaneous ephemera bearing the coat of arms of Archbishop MacNeil and includes letter head, envelops and other miscellaneous items.

The series consists of four treatise composed by Archbishop MacNeil, "The Natural Law" (1936), "Traveloge" (1944) composed as part of his graduation requirements for his Bachelor of Arts, Summary of Canon Law Thesis (1958) composed as part of his requirements for his Doctorate of Canon Law, and two copies of "The Pastors Obligations to Give Premarital Instructions" the complete thesis composed in partial requirements for the degree of Canon Law.

The series consists of photographs documenting Archbishop MacNeil's life, including his graduation from St. Francis Xavier University (1944), his cross-Canada trip (1947), his time at Holy Heart Seminary (1944-1947), his Episcopal Ordination (1969), and various other events. The series includes photographs taken by Archbishop MacNeil as well as formal studio portraits.
