The series consists of records which document the actions and activities of the Seminarians’ community business meetings and includes agendas, meeting minutes, correspondence and other miscellaneous records. The community meetings were used as a forum to discuss day-to-day matters and inform students and faculty of events taking place St. Joseph Seminary, Newman Theological College, parishes in the Archdiocese, and at the Archdiocese Pastoral Centre.
The file consists of documents regarding Rev. MacNeil's time spent at seminary in the Diocesan Seminary in Halifax and includes correspondence and certificates certifying Rev. MacNeil's ordination as a transitional deacon (1947) and a priest (1948).
This series documents the activities of the Newman Theological College Senate, and consists most notably of the minutes of Senate meetings. Furthermore, this series also contains correspondence between members of the Senate, Newman Theological College and other organizations as well as other documents such as master timetables, articles that were the subject of discussion at meetings and financial records. In addition, acts of incorporation can be found in the first file of this series (85-2-1).
