This index contains information about the letters found in the Bound Letter books belonging to Bishop Legal. The index is arranged chronologically listing the month, day, year and name of the addresses of each letter. The index also contains the page number on which the letter may be found.
The file contains copies of the pastoral and circular letters composed by the various bishops who have served the Archdiocese as a means of communicating their pastoral, spiritual, and administrative vision of the Archdiocese with the clergy, parishioners, and general public. The file also includes Lenten regulations and testimonial letters.
Letters are arranged in chronological order and identified by the bishop who composed them.
The file contains annual reports from parishes and missions used to compile an annual report on the Catholic Population in the Diocese of St. Albert (1897-1913) and Archdiocese of Edmonton (1913-1918). Information contained in this report includes name of parish, total number of parishioners (divided by the number of English language parishioners and number of French language parishioners, number of German parishioners, number of Polish parishioners, and number of Indian parishioners), communities of men and women religious active in the area, and information about other catholic resources (such as schools and hospitals). These reports were used to create the Canadian Catholic Church Directory and the Alberta Catholic Church Directory see Sub-subseries 1.1.5.14.
Previously titled Fundraising and Development, this file consists of records that document an early approach to fundraising and development activities in the Archdiocese of Edmonton and includes correspondence, meeting minutes and resource materials for fundraising and stewardship including the Guide to Planned Giving (1974-1983) and The Guide to Giving Kit (1977-1980).
Between 1980 and 2010 the majority of fundraising activities were carried out by the Foundation (Foundation records ARCAE 1.1.8.12). In 2011 the Development Office was established and its records are now filed here.
The file consists of requests from a variety of sources for funding for a variety of projects, parishes, missions, and Catholic charities from around the world. Early appeals are predominantly from Rome or the Holy Land, as the files move into the war era appeals are related to Europe and war relief efforts. In the 1950s and 1960s appeals become very international in their nature, ranging from India, to Asia, to South America, to Africa. By the 1990s follow-up letters are included in the files. These follow-up letters indicate if money was given to a particular cause, and if not why. Since 2006 two appeal files have been maintained for each year, appeals from within Canada, and appeals from other countries.
The file consists of correspondence related to burses and legacy donations received by the Archdiocese as a means of providing funding and support for diocesan activities. Since the establishment of the Development Office documents of a similar nature are now files in 1.5.16 or 1.8.12.
The sub-sub-subseries consists of records from the Evangelization Committee established by the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council to explore and evaluate the culture of evangelization in the Archdiocese of Edmonton and consists of meeting minutes, reports and correspondence that document the work carried out by this committee.
Of particular interest are the interim reports compiled by the committee, in particular "Evangelization and Re-Evangelization : Towards Developing a Specialized Ministry of Outreach to the inactive Catholic" (1988).
The file consists of records that document the actions and activities of the Synod on the Family (previously known as the Synod Implementation Committee) and includes correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, surveys, handouts, resource materials and other miscellaneous records.
Sans titreThe files contain copies of the Archdiocesan Educational Services Catalogs complied between 1981 and 1996. These catalogs were complied by the Continuing Religious Education Centre to inform parishioners in the Archdiocese of the various educational resources available and include the names, contact information and brief descriptions of the mission, goals, and purpose of each organization. Listed in these directories are organizations like Catholic Engaged Encounter, Newman Theological College, Youth Commission, Legion of Mary, etc.
The folder consists of copies of annual reports submitted by the Commissions, Councils and Offices of the Archdiocese for review by the Archbishop and Chancellor. These reports provide information about the functions, operations, and activities of the organizations they report for. They also provide information about goals and future plans.
The folder consists of meeting minutes and reports complied by the Faith Formation Team, a committee established to report on pastoral activities of the various pastoral offices of the Archdiocese.

The file contains meeting minutes, agendas and other documents from the ECC Advisory Board Meetings.
The file consists of records documenting a variety of projects carried out by the ECC including the Holy Cross Cemetery Plan for Drainage Ditch (1956), Holy Cross Mausoleum expansion (1991), Our Lady of Peace Cemetery upgrade plans (1993), Annual memorial celebration (2000-2007), Easement for right of way project (2006), and information about the Funeral Home Leases (2000).
