The file contains correspondence and other records related to the development and growth of Millwoods (a sub-division of Edmonton) and the potential need to build a Catholic Church in that community. The file also contains correspondence and other related to the shifting demographics within the City of Edmonton and the future of many of the inner-city Parishes in Edmonton.
The subseries consists of correspondence, meetings, newspaper clippings, and other miscellaneous records which document the actions and activities of the Church Site Committee. The Committee was active from 1973-1992. Its primary goal was to plan for the establishment of new parishes as many cities with the boundaries of the Archdiocese of Edmonton expanded in both population and geographical size. The committee relied heavily on church site descriptions complied in the 1950s of all active parishes in the Archdiocese.
