Photographs are of the interior, exterior and contents of St. Pius X Parish (closed in 2012) and includes details of the items found in the sanctuary, sacristy, offices and other rooms in the building.
The series consists of a varies of photograph albums documenting the life, actions and activities of Bishops, Priests and Seminarians. These albums include documentation from ordinations, installation ceremonies, vacations, and other events. Of particular interest are the three photograph albums complied by Archbishop Legal, the second Bishop of St. Albert Diocese, and the first Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Edmonton between 1880 and 1920.
In addition the series consists of albums which document a variety of parish events including construction of new parishes, blessings, special masses, social events. As well the series includes albums which document Archdiocesean wide events such as the Synod of Priests, World Youth Day, Synod on the Family, Mission day, the 75th Anniversary of the Province of Alberta, Jubilee 2000, and albums from the committees and commissions operated by the Archdiocese including Social Justic Commission, The Communications Centre, and the Youth Commission.
The file contains various petitions received by Legal from parishioners during his time as Bishop of St. Albert.
The file consists of various petitions received by Bishop Grandin while he was stationed at St. Albert on a range of topics both administrative and spiritual.
The file consists of records that document the various Peru missions conducted by the Archdiocese in the 1960s and includes correspondence and other miscellaneous records.

The file contains annual reports from parishes and missions used to compile an annual report on the Catholic Population in the Diocese of St. Albert (1897-1913) and Archdiocese of Edmonton (1913-1918). Information contained in this report includes name of parish, total number of parishioners (divided by the number of English language parishioners and number of French language parishioners, number of German parishioners, number of Polish parishioners, and number of Indian parishioners), communities of men and women religious active in the area, and information about other catholic resources (such as schools and hospitals). These reports were used to create the Canadian Catholic Church Directory and the Alberta Catholic Church Directory see Sub-subseries 1.1.5.14.
This series documents the activities of the Newman Theological College Personnel Committee, and consists most notably of the minutes of Personnel Committee meetings. The Personnel Committee is composed of Personnel, Faculty, and Administrators with the mandate of governing over the affairs of the personnel hired by Newman Theological College. Furthermore, this series also contains correspondence between members of the Personnel Committee, Newman Theological College and other organizations as well as other documents such as master timetables, articles that were the subject of discussion at meetings, and financial records.
The file contains correspondence, handbooks, reports and other miscellaneous records related to the Personal Soliciation Campaign organized to identify and approach individuals with considerabel assets to donated to the Foundation.
The series consists of miscellaneous textual records created and collected by Rev. Purcell including a small collection of prayer cards celebrating the ordination or significant anniversary of priests (many of whom served in the Archdiocese of Edmonton), a copy of his last will and testament (1999), cards, letters, miscellaneous biographical materials written for his 25th and 40th anniversary of priesthood celebrations, and three cassette tapes.
The series consists of a verity of personal papers pertaining to the life of Archbishop MacNeil before and during his time as Archbishop of Edmonton and includes identification documents, newspaper clippings about his life and achievements, documents pertaining to his time as a seminarian, documents pertaining to his installation as Bishop of St. John and Archbishop of Edmonton, information on his family (including copies of his family tree), school year books, pamphlets and programs from events held in his honour, documentation regarding various celebrations organized for the Archbishop including his 25th, 40th, 50th, and 60th anniversary of his ordination.
The series consists of personal papers of Lorenz Maier and includes his official documentation from Germany and Canada, agendas and calendars which provide insight to his schedule as a priest, guest books from events hosted by Maier, records of Maier’s student life including course notes, transcripts, assignments, term papers, and Maier’s application to St. Joseph Seminary, records from Maier’s priestly internship including information about marriage prep, baptism and RCIA at St. Joseph Basilica, financial records, travel documents including flight itineraries, photographs, newspaper clippings, bulletins, and other miscellaneous documents.

The file includes a variety of personal documents related to the life of Archbishop O'Leary including newspaper clippings about his life, his baptism certificate, papal bulls appointing him to the see of Charlottetown, and Archdiocese of Edmonton, copy of the last will and testament of O'Leary, and his coat of arms.
A variety of records in this file appear to have been added at a later date, likely by Sr. Cecil, the archivist in the 1980s and 1990s.
The series includes a variety of personal identification documents, official reports on cures, notes on diocesan regulations, petitions, and various other documents. Of particular interest is Bishop Legal's Last Will and Testament and two file folders of programs from concerts Legal attended in St. Albert, Edmonton and other cities in Alberta.
