The file consists of a single file of records documenting the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council's proposal to Archbishop MacNeil for the establishment of a new Junior College in Alberta and includes correspondence and reports.

The file contains correspondence, minutes and agendas of the meetings of the Newman Theological College Foundation Board of Directors, some financial records (including year end statments and budgets), various reports, as well as information about the incorporation of the Foundation as a Charitable Organization, and other miscellaneous records.

The sub-sub-subseries contains records related to the planning and implementation of the Corner Stone of Faith project which raised money for the new buildings for St. Joseph Seminary and Newman Theological College, includes meeting minutes and agendas, correspondence with the western Bishops, correspondence with donors, general correspondence, pamphlets and other promotional materials, and records from the sod-turning ceremony at the site of the new buildings for Newman Theological College and St. Joseph Seminary.

The sub-sub-series consists of records that provide general information about the various councils and commissions operated by the Archdiocese of Edmonton and includes history, mission statements, catalogs, calendar of events, annual reports, and membership lists. More detailed information for each commission can be found in the subsequent sub-sub-series titled by its name (for example additional information about the Liturgy Commission can be found in ARCAE-1-1-6-24).

Currently called the Department of Pastoral and Parish Services this department has had several name changes. Please note that information collected during the period when the department was called "The Department of Evanglization and Catechism" is filled under 1.1.6.64"

The sub-sub-subseries consists of records from the Evangelization Committee established by the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council to explore and evaluate the culture of evangelization in the Archdiocese of Edmonton and consists of meeting minutes, reports and correspondence that document the work carried out by this committee.

Of particular interest are the interim reports compiled by the committee, in particular "Evangelization and Re-Evangelization : Towards Developing a Specialized Ministry of Outreach to the inactive Catholic" (1988).
