Fonds contains records which document the personal and priestly life of Msgr. Fitzgerald and includes correspondences, school records including report cards and examples of written works, awards, papal blessings, bulletins from funerals performed by Msgr. Fitzgerald, information on genealogical research conducted by Msgr. Fitzgerald, as well as photographs and negatives.

The fonds is arranged into two series:

1. Personal Papers (ca.1950-1985)
2. Photographs and Albums (ca.1940-1985)

The series consists of a variet of personal papers created and collected by Msgr. Fitzgerald throughout his life which document the many activities he engaged in as a student and later as a priets.

The series consists of photographs, negatives, scrapbooks, and photograph albums belonging to Msgr. Fitzgerald. Included in this series are photographs taken by Msgr. Fitzgerald on several trips he took while at seminary.

In addition the series includes three scrapbooks containing photographs, newspaper clippings, and articles composed by Msgr. Fitzgerald while he was director of The Archdiocesan Communications Centre.
