The series consists of 32 journals composed by Archbishop Legal which document his daily thoughts and activities during his time as a young priest, co-adjuctor Bishop of St. Albert, Bishop of St. Albert, and Archbishop of Edmonton. The majority of the entries are in French, however there are some English and aboriginal (likely Blackfoot) entries as well.
The journals include daily entries of the activities of the mission and duties performed by Legal as well as containing important information about social, political, economic and environmental circumstances he encountered during his time as an Alberta Bishop.
