This series documents the activities of the Newman Theological College Academic Council, and consists most notably of the minutes of Academic Council meetings. The Academic Council was composed of Faculty members and occasionally students with a mandate to govern over the academic affairs of Newman Theological College. Furthermore, this series also contains correspondence between members of the Academic Council, Newman Theological College and other organizations as well as other documents such as master timetables, articles that were the subject of discussion at meetings and financial records.

This series documents the activities of the Newman Theological College Administrative Council, and consists most notably of the minutes of Administrative Council meetings. The Administrative Council is composed of the majority of Newman Theological College administrators and is charged with the mandate of overseeing administrative decisions. Furthermore, this series also contains correspondence between members of the Administrative Council, Newman Theological College, employees of Newman Theological College and other organizations. In addition, this series contains documents such as job descriptions, employee resumes, articles that were the subject of discussion at meetings and financial records.

This series contains records of the various Administrative Departments of Newman Theological College including, but not limited to the Social Justice Institute Committee, Charismatic Institute, Ecumenical Institute, Pastoral Counselling Program, Youth Ministry Studies Certificate, and Liturgy Committee.

This series contains copies of publications issued by Newman Theological College Alumni Association and includes the Alumni Newsletter known as the Plumbline from 1982 until 1991, before being renamed the John Henry in 1991. Other records related to the NTC Alumni can be found in series 39.

The sub-series consists of records which document the organization, planning and implementation of the Anthony Jordan Lecture Series as carried out by the Anthony Jordan Lecture Series Committee and includes agendas, meeting minutes, correspondence, as well as ephemeral materials such as posters, newspaper clippings, tickets and brochures from the event.

The sub-series also includes files containing information about each speaker and includes Curriculum Vitae of the various speakers, transcripts of the speeches themselves, newspaper articles about the speakers, photographs and other miscellaneous published articles. The series contains documentation of and correspondence pertinent to the process through which Newman attained accreditation from the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) as well as documentation of subsequent reaccreditation processes. The ATS Accreditation Steering Committee was incorporated to guide the College through the accreditation process and culled information that would subsequently be put to use in the formal reports Newman Theological College would file with the ATS.

This series documents the activities of the Newman Theological College Board of Governors, formerly known as the Board of Administrators from its inception in 1978 until the 1991-1992 academic year, and consists most notably of the minutes of Administrative Council meetings. The series consists of records which document the many lectures organized by Newman Theological College, notably the Anthony Jordan Lecture series, the Vital Grandin Lecture series and the Fall Lectures Series. Each sub-series contains information about the committees formed to organize the lectures, minutes of their meetings, correspondence between the committees, speakers, local media and other members of the Newman Theological College faculty. Each sub-series also contains copies of various newspaper articles either promoting or reporting upon the lectures. The series is arranged into four subseries: Anthony Jordan Lecture Series, Vital Grandin Lecture Series, Fall Speaker Series and Convocation Series.

This series documents the relationship between Newman Theological College and multiple external organizations including educational institutions, Catholic organizations, and Christian groups such as St. Mary University College, Ville Maria Renewal Centre, Concordia Lutheran Seminary, St. Stephen’s College, the University of Alberta, the Vancouver School of Theology, the Kings of Columbus, and the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops. It includes correspondence, relevant ephemera from the external organizations and documentation of collaborative efforts.

This series documents the annual symposium held a Newman Theological College called Faculty Days. During Faculty Days, members of the Faculty Council, as well as faculty who were not considered members of the Faculty Council, would meet and discuss affairs pertinent to the faculty at that time and make plans for the future year. This series includes the minutes of the meetings that took place during Faculty Days as well as correspondence and documentation pertaining to the planning and after effects of Faculty Days.
