Scope and content: Series consists of homilies given at a number of parishes including St. Boniface Church, and St. Joseph Basilica by Father Maier during his pastoral internship and after his ordination. Many homilies include annotations indicating when they were used and re-used, as well as edits and additions for future use. Homilies given at St. Boniface church are predominantly in German, although there are some English homilies. The series also includes copies of bulletins from weddings officiated by Lorenz Maier and the homilies given on those occasions.

The series consists of personal papers of Lorenz Maier and includes his official documentation from Germany and Canada, agendas and calendars which provide insight to his schedule as a priest, guest books from events hosted by Maier, records of Maier’s student life including course notes, transcripts, assignments, term papers, and Maier’s application to St. Joseph Seminary, records from Maier’s priestly internship including information about marriage prep, baptism and RCIA at St. Joseph Basilica, financial records, travel documents including flight itineraries, photographs, newspaper clippings, bulletins, and other miscellaneous documents.

The series consists of records which document the spiritual writings by Lorenz Maier in English and German. Maier wrote plays, poems, prayers, reflections, book reviews, and a novel which explore his spirituality and the nature of spiritual life. The series includes final copies, self-published manuscripts, annotated draft manuscripts, and miscellaneous notes for many of his literary works. Of most significance are the two self-published two manuscripts “I Sought God: A Testimony” and “A Symphony for the Lord” in which Maier tells the story of his spiritual journey from businessman to priest.

Series consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence in German and English. Maier corresponded with a number of international organizations and missions, as well as several members of his family on a regular base. He also corresponded with parishioners and received many cards and post cards from them.
