In 1976, Pastors and Pastoral Assistants of francophone parishes in Edmonton met to discuss pastoral needs of Catholic francophones in the greater Edmonton area. In May 1979, the first meetings of “agents de pastorale francophones” were held. The group decided to continue to meet to work on education of the faith and liturgy. This group is the only one of its kind in the Archdiocese.

Immediate source of acquisition
In December 2006, minutes to 1998 were found in Immaculée-Conception Parish fonds transferred to the Archdiocesan Archives. Rev. Raymond Sévigny donated a set of minutes in better condition from 1982 to 2002 in December of the same year. In 2008, minutes from the last three years were added to the fonds. In September 2008 minutes of meetings for a “pastorale d’ensemble”, 1976-1978, were sent to archives, also by Rev. Raymond Sévigny.
