Rev. Walter Comier was born on November 1, 1865 in Quebec to Olivier Comier and Eulalie Manseau. He entered the Oblates of Mary Immaculate at Lachine and made his profession of faith on September 8, 1890 in Ottawa. He attended the Major Seminary in Nicolet where he received his theological training and was ordained by Archbishop Thomas Duhamel in Ottawa on May 23, 1891.

From 1891-1896 Rev. Comire worked at the Dunbow Indian School, Pincher Crrek, Fort MacLod, Calgary and other associated missions. In 1896 he was tranfererd to Onion Lake where he served until 1900. served at St. Alphones parish (1941-1943), Good Fish Lake (1901-1926), Winterburn (now Enoch) and Hinton (1929-1935), and Wabamum, Rivier-Qui-Barre, Grandin, Beaver Lake, St. Alfred and Ashmount (1929-1939).

Ashe, Rev. James

Rev. James Ashe was born on March 5, 1906 at Aunascaul in Ireland.

He entered St. Joseph Seminary in Edmonton Alberta in 1930 and completed his theological studies in 1934 for the Archdiocese of Edmonton. On June 10, 1934 he was ordained to the priesthood by Archbishop Henry Joseph O'Leary.

He served at several parishes including Sacred Heart Parish, Edmonton (1934-1935) as Assistant Pastor, Cadomin and missions (1935-1939) as Pastor, Athabasca (1939) as Pastor, St. Anthony's Parish in Edmonton (1939-1941) as Assistant Pastor, Vilna and Bellis (1941-1942), Jarvie and missions (1942-1943), St. Joseph Cathedral (1943-1946).

In April of 1946 Rev. Ashe returned to Ireland and was excardinated from Edmonton on Feb. 4, 1946.

Bryden, Rev. Bernard

Rev. Angus Bernard Bryden was born on January 6, 1928 at Christmas Island, Nova Scotia. He completed his theological studies at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Edmonton between 1952 and 1956 and was ordained on May 26, 1956 at St. Ninian’s Cathedral, Antigonish, N.S. by Archbishop John Hugh MacDonald, for the Archdiocese of Edmonton.

Rev. Bryden was the Assistant Pastor at Trochu and missions (1956-1960), Pastor at Winfiled and Missions (1960-1964), Pastor at Galahad and Missions (1964-1967), and Ponoka (1967-1970).

In 1970 he left the Archdiocese and was later laicized. Death information about Rev. Bryden is not available.
